Oxenhope CE Primary School
Oxenhope is proud of the links it has with the local churches and community groups.
St Mary’s Oxenhope.
We work closely with St Mary’s and the members of the church team; Reverend Cat and Reverend Elspeth regularly visit our school to lead collective worship, reflection time, prayer groups, family praise and for well being visits. Our Pupil Voice groups enjoy attending special services throughout the year at St Mary’s, such as Remembrance Sunday, Christingle and Carol Services.
Oxenhope Methodist Church.
We work closely with the Church leaders, who regularly enjoy leading our collective worships. We’ve made links with their community cafe, where pupils and staff enjoy refreshments. We also promote their ‘warm space’ initiative in school.
Hall Green Baptist Church.
We engage with this lovely church in Haworth during bible week, where we attend their live action re-telling of bible stories. Mrs Jones also visits their toddler group to create links with our extended community.
Manorlands Hospice.
Oxenhope and Manorlands have a firm relationship and engage with community events such as summer fairs, fund raising and whenever the opportunity arises, pupils visit Manorlands to spread joy through events such as carol singing and tree planting.
Worth Valley Food Bank.
As a school collection point we take donations for the Worth Valley Food Bank, and we link this to our social injustice projects during Harvest Festival.
